Reg got into a 3-way-rear-ender yesterday on his way to work.
Thank goodness everyone got out of it without injury. Reg had switched lanes and the car in front of him braked suddenly. So Reg reacted by braking but obviously the car behind him wasn't as quick. Our car sustained minor damage, so we're very relieved.
The grill portion below the lip of the front hood is caved in and both front/rear bumpers have scratches. As long as the car is still running it's not something I'm going to lose sleep over. You might think I should be more upset. I'm sure others would be, having to drive around with their vehicle in such a state of apperance (dented and all), but like I told Reg: I'm not going to make a big deal about it as long as the engine is running fine and what's damaged can be fixed. Thankfully, he has the same attitude. It's the insurance company of the driver who's responsible that has me worrying.
I know it's messed up to say but I'm soooooo glad it's not Reggie's fault. I don't even want to think about how my premiums will hit the roof. That guy has to not only take care of our car, but also the car in front of Reg! I've heard of companies being ridiculously difficult because they don't want to foot the bill. Hoping this'll not be the case. Funny how these things occurred after my car passed its 1-year mark.
Since I hit the dog and gave the bumper a facelift, Reg has brought up the incident every chance he gets. So last night, I told him "NOW will you stop bugging me about the dent??"
Reg and I've been sick these past couple weeks. Lots of fun!!
First I got sick. Just a common cold, but what had us worried was a lymph node under my chin got swollen. Visibly.
<--- Messed up Ping!! But it's been a week and the swelling has abated. You can still feel that it's hardened, but I can check with the doctor later. As I was getting over it, Reg suddenly caught it! I guess we were being foolish in sharing drinks and thinking he wouldn't catch it. Russian Roulette, anyone? He was on the road to recovery quicker than me, though. I pretty much put him on a crash-course to recuperation. As soon as I figured out he was getting sick I stocked up on calamansi juice, vitamin C drops and a box of Comtrex. Soups, salads and sandwich dinners. No dairy when you're congested. It'll just make things worse. Reg's only request was not to cook anything he'd 'enjoy' or that 'tasted good' since he couldn't taste a thing. For dinner last night, I made beef/shrimp yakisoba. I totally forget!!!
Sorry Reg!
I had planned on getting the car estimated, so I got off of work today. I took a chance of calling to see if the police report was ready and ... it's not. The officer I spoke with said to wait 3-5 business days. I couldn't help but quip, "Give or take a week, right?"
Reg said to wait for him accompany me to the auto shops. Something about girls going alone, I didn't quite catch what he was muttering.
Whatever REG!! So now I have a free day (I'm bad, huh). It's okay. Gives me a chance to catch up on my correspondence.
Eileen's wedding is in less than months. I'm so excited!!! She and Erin have done a GREAT JOB in organizing everything. Eileen, you're going to be my wedding planner if I ever get married (I'll buy you a headset if you like)!! Anyway, our bridesmaid gowns arrived last week and Grace and I went over to try them. Grace looked so gorgeous!! I wish we took pictures. I won't go into how mine was a bit snug ... *sigh* I've been bad with my McDonald's. Sorry Ei!! I'll fix it!! Ei says that the groomsmen might not make it for the wedding since they'll be away on military duty. This means Grace, Cheryl and I will have to walk down the aisle without partners. We asked if we could do the 'hustle' on our entrance.
I didn't quite catch Ei's response ... something about a shoe flying ... someone's head ...
No movies to review. We went to watch 'The Interpreter' and silly me, I fell asleep.
I was so disappointed because I'd been wanting to watch it since I first saw the preview. Reggie did say it was good but don't expect much action. It's mainly drama. If you've been planning to watch it, hope that helps.
See you later!
